PRESS: Mordashov wants to buy stake in Lenta grocery chain

MOSCOW, Mar 27 (PRIME) -- Severgroup of Alexei Mordashov is interested in purchasing a stake in Russian retailer Lenta, business daily Vedomosti reported on Wednesday, citing sources.

Severgroup owns online food store Utkonos. According to the sources cited by Vedomosti, Mordashov became interested in large offline retailers a year or a year and a half ago and was in negotiations to purchase a stake in Magnit but owner Sergei Galitsky sold his entire stake to VTB.

Mordashov negotiated acquisition of a stake in Lenta in 2018, but the sides did not agree on the price, a source said.
